• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

I have a fellow wanting to trade me my Sako 75 22-250 Varmint Laminate for a L46 222 HB. The photos he provided look good. Tell me would this be a good trade to make? Not a follower of the L46, so I need some input.

wookie,

I do not have a huge amount of experience with the L46 HB but if it shoots anywhere near as good as my L461's in HB, then I would make that trade (not a huge fan of the 75,85, and A7's although I have a few).

I would think that the cash value for both the 75 and l46 is about the same.

If you make the trade, let us know how she shoots.

As to which I would rather have -- the L46 HB would be far and away my preference (assuming you didn't need the extra velocity of the larger cartridge.) If the L46 is in good condition it will likley shoot better 100 yard groups than the later, larger rifle.

One the other hand, the more recent Model 75 will have a recent and higher retail price that (somewhat inexplicably) influences its resale value. My guess is that the Model 75, condition being more or less equal, will bring a bit more money than the L46 right now. In twenty years, I would think the L46 would best the Model 75 financially.

So, if it is your current net worth you are intrerested in, keep the M75. If it is ownership of a fine and somewhat scarce rifle and shooting a marvelously accurate little cartridge, then trade for the L46.
