• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

hey guys! just joined the club. i have owned several sakos in my life time and i had to sell the best one i had and i miss it. i am looking for a deluxe, in .25-06. the one i owned was made around 1981. my knowledge on sakos is elementary. i just bought a new 75 deluxe this past september and i dont like the action. i have not put a round through it yet, but damn, it dont feel like my old deluxe. if any one out there has one they want to sacrifice, let me know. i am looking in the 58-84 vintage. sincerely, skyridgeman oh, must be in excellent shape!!!!!!!

I am just curious, what caliber is your 75 Deluxe, and what don't you like about it? Are you set on finding a 25-06 Deluxe or are any other calibers of interest? A month ago at the local gunshow they had an AV action Deluxe in 25-06, immaculate, asking $950... and they also had an AV which was not a Deluxe just the regular Finnbear sporter NIB never touched with all paperwork, also in 25-06, asking $850. Local gunshow is on again this weekend, may just have to go have a look-see if the Sako's are still around...

There is only one thing you can do to be forgiven for your sin. You must find an L61R deluxe pre-Garcia. You can find one on GA, Auction Arms or Gun broker for around 1200 in 98% condition. Do not get hung up on finding a 25-06 just find a nice one. Don't ever sell a Sako unless you are replacing one with a better one. This is the Sako Creed..... lucky for me I only made the mistake once a long time ago. Good luck, and regards, Rick.

Hey Rick, I sure would like to hear about that "mistake" you made.

You aren't by chance in Idaho, are you? I see a lot of posts on various forums from a Rick in Idaho who also sells quite a few Sakos and Tikkas on the various auction sites. Was just curious.

By the way, I really appreciate all of your posts here recently, and the rifle you picked up is super! It does get a little slow around here at times, especially for those of us who have been bitten by the Sako bug and need information NOW!!

Hey, a big thanks to Deer Goose also - always helping out with the Sako questions!

I traded a garcia 7mag that I picked up in germany for a win101 12ga field
gun....never could hit shit with that gun. The Sako had beautiful dark
walnut with fiddelback front to rear....oh I wished I had that rifle now.

Sky,
You have to shoot that model 75 quite a bit for it to feel silky! Your Sako needs to be put to work!
I bought one in Oct.04 and it is just now starting to feel good, I am going to keep mine, I see action bedding in my future.
Do what I do, buy lots of ammo and keep it in plain sight, that way you have to go to the range to get the ammo off the shelves.
Later,
GoGo
