Can any of you guys give me the specifics of this rifle? I know it’s a an AV 30-06. I’m assuming it’s a deluxe. Is it a finnbear? L61r? I’d never sell it but just wondering what to tell somebody I have when I tell them I have a Sako 30-06. Serial number is 587410. Sorry for the pic quality. Thanks in advance.

You have an AV (A Roman numeral 5) Deluxe. Sako marketed all their long action rifles with the "Finnbear" moniker, whether a L61R, AIII, or AV. Finnbear is a more generic term, which is why we use the action stamping to more specifically describe a particular rifle. Based on the stock shape, forearm tip, & recoil pad, as well as the serial number, I would guess it was made sometime around 1985 or a few years later. The AV is the L61R action with the addition of a rear bolt shroud & a slightly longer rear tang. The AV stamping is the identifier for these modifications. You can peruse the section on Sako long actions to gather more detail. Lots of info there.
