• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

Hello everyone,
Great to be here. I'm from New Zealand and work in the mining industry. Currently own a few Sako's - L461 Vixen .222, some 75's and 85's. Enjoy getting out for a shot and wetting a line when I get time.
Cheers,

Thank you @paulsconstruction . I'm down in the South Island. Here's a few photos :)

You are living in paradise, my friend! Awesome trophies, everyone. Thanks for sharing! My state just allowed the use of suppressors a few years ago & it has become my preferred way to shoot. What caliber is your rifle & what kind of suppressor is that? Does part of the tube come back over the barrel?

Hi Paul, I've got a few. All Sako's . Got a Sako Vixen in .222, a couple of 75s in .22-250 and an 85 in .25-06. My main goto rifle at the moment is my Sako 85 Finnlight 2 in 7mm rem mag. Upgraded the stock to a carbon to lighten her up a bit for the mountain hunts. Shoots like a laser ! I've got a Hardy's magnum suppressor on it which works very well. Use it on the .25-06 with no issues. Yes the tube comes back over the barrel , 3-4 inches from memory?

Fantastic fallows and red! You grow 'em big on the South Island. NZ is on my bucket list if Covid ever relents.

Hi Ando2506, great trophies and pics. I was supposed to head back to NZ earlier this year but had to cancel....
How do you find the Bushbuck pack. I have the bino buddy and the quality seems good but i havn't tested it properly as yet.

G’day ando2506, get em while ya can mate :)
My last trip over there was 94
Hunted the Arawhata that time but the choppers were hammering it.
Another memorable trip was the North Island Kawekas.

Haha, for sure- just hit the big 50 so times catching up with me.
94' Interesting times back then . Would have been an experience to say the least. Never hunted up north . Closest I ever came was ramming a red hind with a severely underpowered Ford Escort when I worked in the forestry out of Rotorua many years ago....... good times :) ! Sika are a great hunt from what I hear- hopefully get up there one day for a crack at em.
