This is just a heads up for anyone using the newer Sako optilocks bases, not the older ones as far as I am aware of, but the ones that are sold through eurooptic.com.
I mounted a scope on my rifle a ways back using my optilock bases and rings. I noticed that I had to max my windage to one direction to get my groups to center on target. Well tonight I decided to wrestle the issue and what I discovered is the ring mounting hole in the rear base, the base with the recoil lug, is off center to the dovetail on the receiver. It took me a few times of swapping scopes, swapping rings, and eventually swapping bases to figure it.
These particular bases I received from eurooptic.com. They all had 6 point hex head screws vs the normal 12 point head screws. I ordered 3 sets of bases and rings. These were not wrapped in the usual hard plastic see through packaging. These were wrapped in white foam and put in a zip lock bags with labels on the outside of bags. I was like ok whatever, they are just trying to save some money on packaging, but now I am wondering if I received knockoffs. Just a heads up to anyone having windage adjustment issues with their newer optilocks and if you purchased through europtics.com.
