• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

I have a question about the rifle I wrote of on "New to me Bofors Steel .223". I removed the scope for a thorough cleaning and I had a good look at the chamber stamping. It appears to be stamped 222 with the last 2 stamped over with a 3, the bluing is over the 3 stamp and all looks original. Knowing the previus owner was a shoot it a few times before and durring deer season and throw it in the closet kind of guy. I seriously doubt that it was rechambered and reblued. Any posibilities that some of the 222 barrels in the first few runs were reamed a little deeper and stamped over with a 3 from the factory?

absolutely not. Sako had strict quality control... It was common to rechamber 222s to 223s and over-stamp them. take the mystery out of your problem by making a chamber cast. Brownells sells "serosafe" (spelling?) cheap and its very easy to use.

Creedy-Stonecreekranch answered "Day late1" a few threads ago with one of the best discertations on values I've heard to date, anywhere. I personally don't think you will ever have to take a "bath" on it. A pure collector won't touch it but a shooter collector will like it. You stated you got a steal so the next in line should get an honest deal on an honest rifle. It's good that the smith stamped the new caliber. You can sell it "straight up" when you are done with it. It is and always be a fine rifle in a great caliber. Hope you get a chance to shoot it soon. Wasp 19 gave you very good advice. -Misako
