• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

This is the Finnwolf I shoot and hunt with (my other two live in the darknes of my safe). I am interested in information about the scope rings and bases. It has original iron sights. Funky Pachmayr recoil pad. The wood is nicely figured but has some dents. A few scratches in bluing.Serial number 5xxx.Sorry about the upside down pictures, but I am officially old so what can I say.

From the photos, the rings and bases are factory Sako. They are period correct as well. The front extension ring is a rather hard to come by ringset which allows more scope options. The bases are tapered the same as the dovetails on Sako’s turn bolt rifles which allows use of the featured Sako Vintage ring sets. This makes for a truly versatile outfit which is windage adjustable. Once set , you can remove your scope and shoot irons if desired. The scope will re-mount and still be on target.
Nice gun! (For an old dude 😉)

Additionally: at 122 years old … you are doing much better than average! What bourbon do you drink?

The rifle was bought from the worst curmudgeon I have ever dealt with. He was old school before they built the damn school. I am sure this rifle has been some wild places before it got to me. I am even happier with it given your insights. It shoots tiny groups and like my other Finnwolfs it has a glass rod crisp trigger.

When I drank bourbon back in the day, I drank Maker's Mark. My preferred brown liquor for several decades now is Cognac,Remy Martin VSOP to be specifivc 'cause it's smooooth and the next morning you still remember which way to sit on the horse to get back to the road.

And finally,as my dear grand daddy used to say "thank you for the information ,sir!"

Beautiful rifle. I just came-into one, but it has aftermarket bases and rings. I just bought 3 sets of SAKO rings, and one happens to be offset. I wish I could find the SAKO style bases for my Finnwolf as well, because I also bought a Finnwolf peep sight, but I guess it goes onto a SAKO dovetail base, otherwise I need to find one that goes into the holes on the side of the receiver. Beyond that, I like your old-school, Tangent Military style backsight, but mine has a 2-Leaf Express Sight Which I like very much.

Excellent choice of scope as well.I have the same one on my BLR and it has engaged soft targets from 10 ft. to 750 yards. On 1.5x you can keep both eyes open and use your levergun like a shotgun!

Please post pictures of your rear sight. I would love to see pics of the rifle too if possible cause I really like Finnwolfs.
