• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

Apparently there has been a sako model called the fibreglass. I have seen -in an old magazine- a .375 H&H; fibreglass in Australia. I was wondering how comman this model is and if there are these models in smaller calibres like .270, .308 and 30-06'? I am also wondering why sako discontinued this model and why its not available in the 75 series? I would much rather a fibreglass stock to the grey, synthetic, rubbery stocks they have.

My dream rifle would be a Sako 75 action, magazine and barrel on a fibreglass, kevlar reinforced stock, Sako rings and mounts and a Leupold 2-7x33 scope.

Any comments, pictures or thoughts are verymuch welcome.

Hi Doug,
Do you mean the Sako Fiberclass? At least here in Norway it was available in all long action
calibers, from 25-06 to 375 H&H; mag. I have also seen one in .458 Win. Mag which I
was offered to buy at a fair price. For some STUPID reason I did not.. I think I still have a brochure or two which includes that rifle

The stock maker McMillan still makes fiberglass stocks for the AV and AII actions. I have had both made and you can select the color. I had mine made in grey which looks great against the dark bluing. I beleive the go for around $330. The turnaround time is long, usually at least 3 months. Actually, Cabela's also sells them but only in black.

The stock for my .270 in the AV action turned out perfect. I then bedded the action im Marine Tex and the gun shoots better than ever. The stock for my AII was not mad to my specifications and had to be sent back. If you want your fiberglass in the exact dimensions of the wood, it is best to send them the original wood and just tell them to copy it. They will also install aluminum pillars & bed if you want.
