I found this one locally here in central Pa. L579 # 10733.. micro-groove .308 win barrel, it has the slanted #9 in the L579 logo with the bore-wise grooves on the cocking shroud.. so, first year of production? #733 in the production run? Beautiful rifle in great shape!! Don't see anything unusual about the "9", but that could be my eyes. Sako didn't build rifles in sequential order with the serial numbers, so to assume something about production dates from them is futile. Fortunately, your rifle is within the range of serial numbers the club has factory records for. So, by clicking on "Factory Records Service" in the upper left of this page you can request a records search & find out exactly when it was made & to who it was shipped.
