At the g/s yesterday I saw one of these early L61Rs.

Thinking about going back for a 2nd look but it’s around $1300.

What else should I be looking for on this one besides O/A condition & T/E.?

Anything special about the stock or the bolt?

    Thx,

    Phil

There's nothing different about the .264 from any other caliber in an early L61R, but $1,300 is an attractive price if original and in appropriate condition for a rare 26-incher. At least in one man's opinion.

Ok, I guess I'll verify the length, scritinize the blueing/wood condition, and bore scope the throat. I've never actually seen a "shot out barrel" but have seen pics... I know it always starts in the throat and appears as crystalization and cracks.

Bonuses I guess would be: Bofors, a low s/n and the 3rd lug on the bolt.

The stock had orig swivels & the Sako pad was in good condition, IIRC...
