Head's up: Just seen this, Hope somebody here got it ! http://www.gunsinternational.com/gu...o-rifles/sako-model-l579.cfm?gun_id=100888565 Super early L579 "large print/gold fill" floorplate .243 Deluxe. This is one to have !! DeerGoose
Looks like Cabela's bought someone's collection as the same store recently put up a Bofors Finnbear 30-06 with front iron sight as well as a low serial number 308 Mannlicher. @deergoose What do you mean by "large print"? Also, does this particular Forester not have the tree on the pistol grip cap? A "diamond" inlay instead?
Meaning thicker lines that make up the engraving, Paul. Here are a couple of pics showing the differences between the commonly found "Sakolope" and the "large print" Sakolope. It is hard to tell by the pics but these early plates, at least the ones that I have, are gold filled. All factory, and they really exhibit a subtle gold tone....."white gold", if you will. ?? All of this is just another reason why we chase these rifles and add them to our collections. hope this helps. DeerGoose
I seen that one but didn't call on it. My experience has been by the time you call them the rifle had been sold a month earlier.
You know, I got mine that website last year. For the exact same money. Exact same gun. Probably same shape, too. I posted a picture here. I'll look for the link.
