    Hi All,
My M78 magazine got stuck with the follower in a partially-down position (I bought the gun used; no idea how much/what kind of ammo they ran through her). While I was fiddling with it, the follower managed to come out of the open top. So I went ahead and cleaned the parts, but I'm struggling to get it back together. The body does not seem to want to come loose from the baseplate, so I can't insert the follower & spring as I normally would when re-assembling a magazine. I'm not sure if it is crimped/spot welded, or if it's just stuck with all the years of grime.
Thanks in advance for your help!

The base will slide off. They can be very tight. I put the back edge of the base on the edge of a block of wood then slide the magazine out of the base.

Use some WD40 or Kroil beforehand.
