• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

Another SAKO in the safe....
I'd been searching quite a while in Australia for an M591 or late model AII to rebarrel into 7-08, and match my .222 for looks and feel....one actually came up in 22-250 which i was moments away from purchasing, when one last flick of the mouse to check our popular gun classifieds site put me in a cold sweat....
There she was....

A late model AII in .260, Fluted 26" MAB Barrel 1:8 Twist, Bedded, Floated, Worked and Re-blued Action, Tuned Trigger, topped with Optiloks and a VXII 4-12x50 all for a very reasonable AU$1595. 200 count in new brass, 40 loaded, some pills and a set of dies to round off the deal...plus of course a load recipe that im told will put 129gr Hornady SSTs into 2/3" all day.
The Leupold and High Optiloks will go, replaced by a Weaver V16 and some Mid Optiloks.
Its not EXACTLY what I had in mind.....as mentioned, I wanted to replicate the exact look and feel of my late model AI .222, and the 26" tube on the new AII will most definitely look and feel different, but for the compromise I get a gun needing no work, with loads developed, brass and dies, and a scope/base set that I can easily sell to fund my preferred optics.
.....best of all, the .260 is going to see as much time in the paddock evaporating bunnies at 300m as it is knocking over goats and pigs at 100m....2 guns for the price of one.
Should have it in my hands late December and I look forward to giving you all a field report.

Thats is a nice pick up Thwack.I saw that on used guns but had just spent the pennies on a A111 in 25/06
