• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

Bullets jamming

Hi, my name is Sean and I have a Sako85 Finnlight chambered in 300 wsm, i am having a problem with my bullets getting jammed in the feeding process from the clip to the chamber. Has anyone else experienced this issue, or have a solution, or do I need to send it back to manufacturer?

sbjj,
I know one thing that can cause this is the magazine box not coming up high enough to the bolt. This will cause rounds to be caught "high" on the push feed and thus make the angle steeper on the feed causing the bullet to hit the top of the chamber and jamb. Check that your magazine box is fitted correctly in the well and up close to the bolt. In the "L" rifles there are two tabs on the top toward the front of the magazine with corresponding indentations where they fit. This problem usually occurrs when putting a rifle back together without making certain everything's in place.
Hope this helps. Perhaps there will be other ideas.

I would have to agree with you, do you have any suggestions on a fix or do you think i should to send to back to SAKO?

I think a local gunsmith could manage to see and make a few adjustments for you. Try that first. I have a brand-x rifle that I am about to bed and have the same problem with the magazine . I'm going to see if bedding the action will solve the problem. Might get a better fit.

BTW, you might check and see if your bottom metal is not bent. Lay in on a flat surface and if you can see a gap in the center between the metal and the flat surface, then maybe it's no getting the "up" support it needs from that.
