• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

Looking for advice on what everyone is using for bore guides/savers for your rifles. I am looking at the J Dewey line, but thinking isn't there a universal style that will work instead of buying 4 different ones? All of the universal models I am finding say not for Sako. I know someone here will have a trick to share.
Thanks

I've used and own just about every bore-guide imaginable. If you want the best bore guide made then get a Lucas 2 -pc guide. Be prepared to give him the chambering, neck size and diameter of the cleaning rod used as these are 2 pc and have a sleeve that fits inside it to stabilize and center the rod. Cost will run about 40.00 but you will have the best guide made, and after using it you will see why. Once I got into having customs built I made a decision to get a Lucas every time I had one built. For versatility I like the Stoney Point as you can buy extra collets to fit the different bolt diameters. I own a lot of small diameter bolt guns, ie Cooper, Kimber, CZ, and Sako's and I can go from one to the other with those collets and as long as I stay at .257 or smaller. You can buy the larger Stoney Point for the 264-308 size cases and again use the collets. I also have the possum hollow's but they are more specific and most don't come with a solvent port, they usually run about 20.00. I've come to accept that if you own a lot of rifles your going to own a lot of guides, or your going to use guides that don't fit correctly. I'm sure there are many out there that will handle your needs, the important thing is to use one.

Thanks for the link 2greggs, I found all my chamberings but one and sent them an e-mail for info.
cmjr, I have heard that the Lucas guides are the best and am now looking into those, looks like I will need to have different guides for all the rifles, I am very careful when cleaning, but no longer want to take any chances
Thanks

I use a Lucas on my P75. It works really well. I would also recommend Lucas Bore guides to anyone.
