• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

I thought I'd share my failed attempt to purchase a rare and very nice and early Sako Classic in 25-06 with wrap around checkering and nice wood. I saw the rifle last week listed for sell (not auction) on GI. I called the seller that day to see if it was still available and to tell him I would take it. However, I got his recording, so I left a message telling him I wanted to buy it and I asked him to call me back to work the details out. Since I hadn't heard back from him late the next day, I called again and still got his recording. I got online and opened GI to make contact with him, but the rifle was nowhere to be found on GI. I figured someone had beat me to the punch and purchased the rifle. Later that day, I got on GB to cruise the site and saw the rifle I had missed buying. The same seller was offering it for bid at a starting price a little higher than the GI sell price. I was ticked off, so I lost interest in the rifle. I was on GB a couple days later and saw it sold at $1735. The GB listing is 894912587. Makes me not interested in dealing with this seller.

Gun prices have gone through the roof. It is a sellers market. If the seller found out that the rifle was worth more than his original posting I can blame him for taking it down and increasing the price. Sometimes the word isn't fair but the seller took advantage of the market.
