I found some NIB Sako actions while going through my uncle's collection. One of them that I grabbed is an A3 for a 375 h&h caliber. When I opened the box I found that the protective oil had dried years ago causing the plastic wrapping to stick to it. I used hot water and dish detergent then Rem
oil to clean it off as best I could, but there where still some stains left behind.

I am posting a couple of pics in hopes that someone could tell me how or if the stains can be removed. I will possibly do a build, but if not, I may try to sell them on gunauction or other.

    The action was supplied "in-the-white".

Normal polishing, prior to bluing.......and you're good to go.

I am too. We moved his firearms to a safe place and left accessories, barrels, etc to get when we can. I don't believe there are many Sako items other than the box of actions. I do hope to find the rest of the L61R action I posted about last week. There's a chance I could find the stock and barrel it came off of as there are 10 or so stocks and several rifle socks with just barrels in them.

So far this is all I’ve found (https://sakocollectors.com/forum/threads/l61r-action-with-barrel.14456/), and today I came across another New AIII that he was planning to send off to a builder along with instructions.

There’s still a lot to uncover, though. There’s a pile of stocks and several barrels I haven’t been able to look at, yet. I hope to find all the Sako parts I need to put one together.

I have set up an account with gunauction.com. Will probably list one tonight.

I may have an interest in a AIII3 action for a 338 build should you have one and decide to send it down the road.

I had 2, but sold them last week along with one of the AIII4's.

I showed them to the gunsmith I have been using, and he had a client that was interested in them.
