7x64 Brenneke Sako Finnbear Sporter in almost new condition, these are hard to find but a good find for $1000. Serial in the 50,000

Excellent gun! Can't say that I've seen one in this caliber before. Congrats!

BRNO made rifles in 7 X 64 Brenneke calibre in the 1950's in their Model ZG 47. I must say Steve what a gorgeous Sako you have. Any chance of some close up photo's. What is the approx year of manufacture?

You were talking about a ZG47 here is a very hard one to find I think there are like 2 or 3 made in 8x68s

Beautiful rifle! No rear sights? My 1972 FnnBear has rear sights. Did Sako only put them on in some years? Did they expect people would use their rear peep?

I'm envious of the L61R in 7x64. Here in the USA an L61R in that or any other metric caliber is all but unheard of. I have an AV in 7x64 but I don't think any metric L61R's were officially imported to the US.
Most of the L-series Sakos imported to the US had only the front sight. The answer to your question is yes, the idea was that those who wanted iron sights would use the clamp-on Sako aperture sight.

Here's the AV in 7x64. It's the middle gun on the rack in the first photo. The rifle on top is a German custom in 7x64; on the bottom is an AV in 9.3x62.
