• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

I would like to know if the L46 clip action will hold .223 or is the clip too short to do that? Also where can I buy a Vixen size action L46/L461/A1 or even the new 75?

L46 actions (clip fed) will not work with a 223 unless you are using very short bullets, i.e. 45 grain or smaller - they will however accept 17 Remington's except for the 37 gn VLD Bergers. If you are a handloader, suggest you consider the 221 Fireball - it can be easly loaded down to Hornet noise levels, brass is easy to get, Remington has the 700 Classic out this yea, so loaded ammo is available, and the velocity is pretty impressive with a 20" barrel. 461/A1 actions are pretty scare had to buy a whole gun for the last project, but the Mini Mark X's are available through Brownells for about $240, in .223, PPC, or 22-250 boltfaces and clean up reasonable well when "blueprinted". Major C.

I am fortunate to own several L46s in both 222 Rem and 222 Mag. In order to
seat bullets near the lands in the 222 Rem the resulting oal prohibits the
use of the clips except perhaps for one shell. If you must have a clip and
want to use an L46 action you will need to use one originally chambered for
the 222 Mag which has a longer clip. You will find L46 222 Mags with either
L46 or Riihimaki stamped on the receiver and my guess is the L46 stamp is the
rarer of the two. Perhaps an expert could help us with that.

Sako designed the 469 action specifically for the Mag but I believe these are
rare (I have not ever seen one or found one for sale, so I expect them to
expensive.)
