• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

Have any of you installed a sako l46-4 222 rifle with a sako a1 rifle Boyds stock?

The action inletting may be close enough so one could modify it to fit, but the barrel channel will be much different. The triggerguard & detachable magazine of the L46 will be drastically different than the hinged floor plate bottom metal of the AI. Probably not a good idea.

Suomalainen Boydin kauppias sanoo: Sako L46 ja L469 Boyds Sako A1 -loki voidaan mukauttaa tietyin reunaehdoin:L46 toimii pääsääntöisesti vain aseen uusimman version, kaliiperin 222 Rem. Vanhemmissa on lyhyempi lukkokehys. Tukiruuvien välisen etäisyyden keskipisteestä keskelle on oltava 158 mm.Molemmissa aseissa on löysä lipas. Lipasjärjestelmä ei sovi Sako A1 -puskuun. Tiellä oleva "välilohko" on poistettava tukista, muuten helppo asentaa. Lehden sivuilla on vähän tilaa alemman raudan erilaisen muodon vuoksi (kosmeettinen ongelma).??

Finnish Boyd dealer says: Sako L46 and L469 Boyds The Sako A1 log can be customized under certain boundary conditions:L46, as a rule, works only the latest version of the weapon, caliber 222 Rem. Older ones have a shorter lock frame. The distance between the support screws from the centre to the centre must be 158 mm.Both guns have a loose magazine. The chest of drawers does not fit the Sako A1 butt. The "spacer" on the road must be removed from the log, otherwise easy to install. There is little space on the pages of the magazine due to the different shape of the lower iron (cosmetic problem).??
I just had a quick look as I had a late model L46 barrelled action on the bench (long magazine Hornet that I’d assume is the same length as the L469 ?) and a L461/AI stock on hand.
The L461/AI action screws are approximately 5mm further apart than the L46, the L46 action being that much shorter will also leave a gap in the stock at the barrel/action junction. The late model L46 barrel appears that it would fit into the L461 barrel channel ‘ok’, though without modifying the floor plate/trigger area it won’t drop in.
Even if you were to crudely accomodate those things, the root of the bolt handle won’t line up in the L461 stock.

Osku, I see you are from the motherland.
If you can’t manage to find a factory stock over there, from what I’ve seen, there is no shortage of extremely talented craftsmen that could make what ever you wanted…

Kiitos vastauksesta! Olen Rovaniemellä. Purin alkuperäisen tukin irti ja ajattelin tehdä siitä vahatukin näin alkuun.

Would love to see some progress pics if you go ahead.
