• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

    Mis-identified -- and Ineligible

Scammers and their shills run rampant on Gunbonker, and since GB makes money on every sale, there is little incentive to police them.

    Logged in or not?

Excuse my delay. Life gets in the way sometimes. In the navigation bar I am seeing https://sakocollectors com/forum Spahers suggestion worked. I hit the refresh button and my user name and avatar now appear in the upper right when the site loads. I did that while using the Apple product...

    Logged in or not?

I'm logged in automatically too, but when I first navigate to the site, there is no indication that I am logged in anywhere on the page, not at the top, not at the bottom, UNTIL I open a forum, any forum. Curiously, Spaher's suggestion worked though. Admins, I'm not complaining, just...

    Logged in or not?

When I load this site, there is no indication that I am logged in. When I click the log in button, a message appears telling me I am already logged in, but there is no indication of this until I navigate to a specific forum. Confused.

Tell me about the "Vixen" models

My understanding is that actions were offered in increasingly longer lengths to accommodate progressively longer cartridges, The shortest length being named the "Vixen", followed by the "Forester", ( .243, .308, etc). I may be misremembering, but I seem to recall the next longest being...

    Link Broken?

I agree, but will say Mr. Bells ad was unobtrusive, and a convenient shortcut to his page.

    Link Broken?

Mr. Bell had an add for his website, sakosource .com if one clicked on it, it took you to his site. The ad is gone, thus the link is gone.

    Link Broken?

Lately when I click on the link for Mr. Bells website in the upper right corner, nothing happens, I just get a white screen. I'm just trying to figure out where the problem is, wether its the webernet or with this dxxxed Apple product. I can still bring up the page by typing it into the...

    Auction results.

A few weeks ago I posted an alert to members here of a full stock Sako in .222 at an auction in Maine. The listing I saw did not specify if it was an L-46, 469 0r 461, and I, in my limited knowledge wasn't going to guess. In any event, due to a covid outbreak among the staff, there...

Amoskeag auction #132, taking place toward the end of November, has a small number of Sako rifles listed, included in the list, a Browning built on a Sako action, and a customized "pre-vixen" as they insist on calling them. Of special interest, lot #206, Melvin Johnson's personal rifle...

    Gun Show Report - Meh!

At least you had some semblance of a show to go to. Back here, any show worth going to became extinct with covid, and even before that they were starting to turn into fairgrounds flea markets.

Are there gunshows in New England in 2021?

Vermont used to have a few small but interesting shows. In Maine and NH, there are/were a series of shows throughout the year pre-covid. A good reference would be gunshows-usa.com where you can search by by month or by state.
