Hey All!
Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board.
They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things.
The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to.
DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES!
They often state something like this:
”Hello!
Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]”
If you receive any strange messages:
Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not.
Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out!
Beware of anything that might seem fishy!
And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username.
You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our!
All the best! And be safe!

Hello Sako Lovers, I lost my lovely wife Alice in August 2022 at only 62. That's why i've been absent from SCC for so long. I'm starting to feel a little better now, I look after my 2 autistic adult sons, and they give me respect and love. I'm back in the saddle now, and YES the L46 & L461...
Hello Steve, What you call " barrel - swells " we in the UK call " Worms Collars " { A Gun & Rifle Trade Name } Also we call skip chequeringl " Scotch " chequering. The Aschutz .222 Rem. rifles over here in the UK used to be very popular, but not so now.

Hello Sako Lovers,
I don't know how you blokes feel, but I have always thought that the Vixen, Forester and Finbear would of looked so much better with a rounded forend. The same with the cheek - piece area I feel is too box like and could of been rounded some what. Just my opinion - no offence...
The best and most lovely figured stock on a A1 .223 Rem. I have ever seen is Steve's { Stonecreek } rifle. I don't think there is a A1 in existence that would equal Stev's A1.

Hello Icebear And B C 4me, Very interesting responces, and I thank you. Most of my German/Austrian scopes are 26mm tubes, not really a problem as Sako rings come in that size. Like you I do not like 30mm scope tubes, they always look too top heavy on sporting rifles. Thanks once again.

Hello Sako Lovers, You Americans seem to worship the Leupold rifle scopes, where as here in England UK we regard them as OK. We tend to put German or Austrian glass on our rifles eg Kahles, Pecar, Schmidt & Bender, Nickel Marborg, Ajax, Zeiss, Swarovski and many more. I do have a Leupold M8 - 4...
I have several Classic rifles, but if I had to choose one It would be my Sako L46 in 6, 3 X 33 R. The rifle came out of production on the 1st October 1949, and is stocked in Artic Birch.

Hello Slancey,
I have a 1967 Sako L461 in .222 Rem. calibre. I too have had a Ed LaPour 3 way safety fitted, also a Canjar trigger plus a front sight with a bead protector { Safari Type } with band. I had my factory stock customised as well. I will post photo's in the near future.

Hello Sako Lovers, Over here in England UK if you have a sound moderator fitted to any quality rifle, the value of that rifle will be 50% reduced. Also over here in England UK the Police encourage us riflemen to use sound moderators. The only rifle I own with a sound moderator is a 1954 Brno Mk...
Hello Eric, What a beautiful figured walnut stock - quite stunning. I have a L46 stock which is full of lovely figure. Hope you find the 2 parts which you are looking for.

Hello Sako Lovers, Has anyone any photo's of L46 - 6,3 X 33R & .25 - 20 WCF " Deluxe " rifles? I do believe that they are out there, but I have never seen a picture of any. Happy Days - Blackjack
I do know of great stockers in England UK and some are personal friends, but not in the USA. Sorry. I do believe that Sako Collectors people in the USA will come forward to help you. Blackjack.
