Hey All!
Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board.
They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things.
The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to.
DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES!
They often state something like this:
”Hello!
Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]”
If you receive any strange messages:
Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not.
Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out!
Beware of anything that might seem fishy!
And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username.
You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our!
All the best! And be safe!
Jim
I have a Sako 75 I want to put a Zeiss Conquest 3-15x50 on but the scope just barely touches the barrel. I am using Original Sako rings with no base. I also have a L579 243 with rings with bases. If I could swap the rings/bases on these two rifles the 50mm objective would work on my 75, and save...
I have an opportunity to acquire this rifle for what sounds like a good deal but I would like to know what my fellow Sako Collectors think about this rifle?
I did spend a lot of time in the field with a ton of rain. It's at the Gunsmith now. He says he tightened it up and cleaned it and shot it. Shooting 3.5" groups. He says bedding it is the only think left to try. He said $250-$300 to bed it? I called Doc's in Carrollton, TX and he said $150! And...
This is the first time I have had an action screw loose much less fall out. Just carrying it to the deer stand and back until a week ago I missed a shot at a nice buck. Then when I was putting it in the case I found the bolt in the rifle case!
My action screw fell out of my Sako 75 270 and I hand screwed it in and went to the range. my shots were not consistent and on top of that when I tried to push the trigger forward to enable the hair trigger it would not move. Did I just screw it in too tight or what are your thoughts? Also what...
I pulled these off of a new to me Sako 75, so I don't have any paperwork. I'm looking to sell them so I need to be accurate with the name. They appear to be exactly the same as a pair I already have on my L579 243. I have a box that says they are "Original" Sako, S1700900. Although I'm not sure...
I have these Conetrol "Gunnur" rings and bases I took off my Sako L579 243 around 1998. My dad purchased them in Aug. 1973 for this Sako, which was one of several rifles he used. I have the receipt that says they are "Low", and boy are they! Let me know what you think they are worth? I can't...
I would like to determine a fair price or range for the Sako 75 Hunter made in 2001 and has only been fired 40 times. Thanks in advance for your replies!
I have an L579 (No. 926xx Forester on Barrel, Sako 243 on top of barrel just past stock) that I inherited from my father. I have been shooting Hornady Custom 100 gr BTSP and think the accuracy or consistency could be better.
What factory ammo do you guys use in this rifles for Whitetail and...
