• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

    Unusual Sako rings

There is an Australian seller listing 2 sets of Sako 1" ring mounts, high, on Used Guns. The first set has the usual small round hole below the scope ring , the second set does not have that hole, which I've never seen before (or never noticed). Anyone seen them before? Cheers, Piper Website...

Finnwolf VL63 FINNWOLF WON'T OPEN OCCASSIONALY

Piper- What do you think is the extraction problem with the "author of the thread's" Finnwolf. Just the last cartridge causing a problem is perplexing to me. I have no new ideas, and others have outlined good solid advice. The last case sticking is what makes me scratch my head. My...

Finnwolf VL63 FINNWOLF WON'T OPEN OCCASSIONALY

Thanks mate, but it's not my first time re-loading, nor my first time at the 'rodeo'. If you want to build up some experience of finnicky over pressure loads, have a crack at pushing Wildcat 17 and 20 Cals to the top end. You'll get a fast education there! When in this territory, I measure &...

Finnwolf VL63 FINNWOLF WON'T OPEN OCCASSIONALY

I've owned a few Finnwolfs and culled that down to 1 recently. My experience is that they are very accurate shooting rifles, I think the action is pretty strong for what it is, I love the way the bolt head locks up, extraction is fine for every type of factory ammo or reload I've used. Ejection...

Hi, Chasing a metal version of the bottom plate for the original P94S Finnfire. Please PM me. Thanks, Piper

Sako New member with a question

Hi, Small rifle primer brass is available for the .260 Rem, powder charges change slightly, and the CCI 450 would be a good choice if using them. The SRP cases for .260, .308 and other calibres tend to be used by the accuracy fiends of the shooting world. Plus it's expensive brass, batched and...

WTB 243/308 magazine box for L579 / AII

Hi, If you have one for sale, please PM me. I'm after the 243/308 version, not the 22-250 version. Thanks, Cheers, Piper

    Sako Enfields

Another piece of the Sako Enfield puzzle. I felt I should post this so it doesn't disappear off my radar. I'm about to sell my SE 243 and will 'drop out' of the SE story. However owning the SE has introduced me to Enfield's in general and I have started collecting them (and now have some very...

    WTB P94S Bolt

Wanted: Complete bolt or a bolt sleeve (the part that the bolt handle screws into) to suit the original P94S Finnfire 22LR rifles. There are no problems sending it into Australia; I just need to organise a Customs form before it is posted, which is a simple process. Please PM me. Thanks Piper

Mannlicher AII .243 Super Deluxe for sale in Aus

Thanks Marcus for posting. At least we'll have a record of it on here as it's now marked 'sold'. The seller is a member on here, hopefully he'll tell us more about it one day; and hopefully the buyer will post some nice photos also! Cheers Piper

    L579 bolt won’t cock

Also check your trigger blade is not touching / rubbing on anything. I had a intermittent 'fail to cock' problem recently and traced it to the blade just rubbing on the bottom metal slightly, and when pulled back to fire the rifle, it was slow to go forward to allow the cocking for the next...

    Rough Spot?

Hi Wombat, Pretty hard to be sure without looking with a borescope, BUT I've bought some rifles with a powder build up in that area, and experienced it myself after a big day's shooting. And the patches will grab there like it's a rough spot. Say an area 25-100mm (1" to 4") long; varies...

    Sako Enfield

G'day, Welcome! I'd like to see some photos too, and hear any background details. Here's a link to mine: https://sakocollectors.com/forum/threads/sako-enfields.11031/page-4#post-78118 If you go to the start of that thread you'll see that TopGear and others have done some wonderful work...

Sako Ammunition Origin of current Sako brass?

Just to finish off the story, I received a response today, not bad - took only 1 month. On an Australian forum I posted the same question, and 1 guy said it took a few months for the paperwork to arrive; and another gave a similar response, so no big deal (apart from filling in the...

    Super Deluxe 223

Ohhh Yes, Very Nice. I'm a slight shade of green. On my bucket list is a DW Custer Super Deluxe in 223. Never seen one for sale, but I guess they made them. However, a beautiful SD 223 like yours could also fill that spot until one came along! Cheers Piper

Sako Ammunition Origin of current Sako brass?

Well the plot thickens! There may be an obscure Australian Federal Government requirement to get an export permit. Supposedly free and easy to get, but requires about 20 pages of information including detailed personal information of sender & receiver. Got to keep those 222 Rem cases away from...

    Hi from Rural Australia

G'day Mick and welcome, Nice bit of gear there. I have several Tobler barrels on Sako actions also, they all shoot well. And I enjoy dealing with Robert, he's a bit of a character! Which pills are you shooting, and what sort of speeds are you getting from your rifle? Paulsonconstruction: that's...
