• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

    Finding parts

Beretta actually connected me to MidWest via their phone system. I never spoke to a Beretta employee. Just punched the number for parts for old models. I do not have the part yet but when it arrives I will take part and gun to a smith for completion and adjustments. I am not a machinist but...

    Finding parts

Back a few months I inquired about finding a part for my L579. I was not sure what the part was called but I posted a few pics here and eventually was told I needed a trigger over travel screw. No one knew where I could find one. I have found one and thought I would share my experience. 1)...

    Trigger over travel screw

Thanks for your helpful response red rover. I actually have an identical gun that is from the late 60s. I will just buy a screw as you suggested and bring both guns to the gunsmith. They may have such a screw on hand as it is but I could not tell them the size. So, I will bring screw and...

    Trigger over travel screw

I posted earlier about the trigger on my L579. The suggestion is to take it to a gunsmith which I am going to do. After making several inquiries I located one in Michigan that comes highly recommended and spoke with him today. He is confident that they can make the adjustments but suggested...

    L579 trigger/safety adjustment

Thank you. I will do exactly that. I was sweaty enough just getting to that point.

    L579 trigger/safety adjustment

I bought a couple of L579 in .308 last winter. One seems to from the 60s because it has a square tang on the floor plate while the other is rounded and likely made later? I like them both. I acquired a scope for the earlier model and like the set up but...when I took it to the range I took...

    New from Michigan

Hello, I am not a collector really, just a hunter who likes SAKO. I currently own just two Sakos and a Tikka. The Tikka led me to Sako, and since my wife is of Finnish origin, she approves. Thank you to the experts here who have generously shared their expertise and to all who have asked the...
