• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

TRG Hey all, greetings from the great and beautiful Olympic Peninsula. How does anyone choose a favorite

Sako Collectors Club Discussion Forum

Hey all, greetings from the great and beautiful Olympic Peninsula. How does anyone choose a favorite SAKO?
Each and every one is a work of fine craftsmanship, smooth as silk, and nice to know if you do your part they are more accurate than most any other rifle on the market.

Welcome David for me it boils down to the memories that were created when using a particilar gun and very little to do with the looks or monetary value.

Welcome to the club David.
You’re right, each one deserves some adoration. I imagine it’s easier to choose a favorite Brand. Sako has been mine. It’s all I own! I think, if I had to pick one … it would be my Deluxes!:D

When it comes to accuracy, vintage Sako rifles make doing my part so much easier!

What game is hunted on or near the Olympic Peninsula? Wayne

Hi Wayne,
We have Elk, black tail deer, black bear, cougar, and coyote for varmint, these are the primary game. Occasionally there is a draw for mountain goat. We also have some great waterfowl hunting and for the fishing, some world class stealheading, salmon, halibut, and in the summer you can chase albacore tuna when they come close on-shore. I bought my first SAKO in 1976, a blond L61R chambered in 30-06, it was stolen out of my car at the start of deer season my senior year in high school, since then I have nine in my collection. I keep thinking if I have to ever get rid of any of my SAKO's which one would go first....man, that's like selling one of your kids.

Hey Hippie, (great handle) Yes the deluxes are pieces of art. I also like my Bavarian 85M, and my TRG, also have a L61Rchambered in 270 pre-Garcia that has never been fired with the original box. Box is pretty beat up, but the rifle is pristine.
Thanks for the warm welcome - regards,
Dave
