• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

Trying to figure out how best to store the various parts to my guns (peeps, rings, screws, sights, etc...). Plastic zip lock bags? Does that promote rust? Leave them scattered about the room? Pockets of my jeans? What do youz guyz do?

Crown Royal bags. Please don’t get the idea I’m a some sort of lush. I saved a few, and received some from family and friends. Then I actually bought some on the internet. Then I tie a label to them to describe what’s inside, then store parts and pieces in small clear storage containers.

What if I drink Bourbon?

Then upgrade your tastes and get the sawdust out of your throat by drinking some Crown for a change. I once gave a guy a Crown bag to place the bolt of a rifle in that I had just sold him. He acted like I had thrown in a case of ammunition and couldn't believe my generosity. I didn't share with him that I had accumulated a nice stash of such bags "in the natural coarse of living".

Of course opinions on such matters can vary. I have a good friend who is a bourbon drinker and says that "Canadian whiskies were invented so that there would be something for the women and children to drink." But he also owns a number of Remingtons, which somewhat explains his tastes for lesser things.

I stopped buying Crown years ago. Here is my thinking. Why should I pay a premium for water (86 vs 80 Proof). So instead I buy Crown Royal Black. I get a deal on a case of the big bottles and the Crown Black is 90 Proof.

Ya gotta have your priorities straight.

I guess I’ll be picking up some Crown later. [emoji41]
