• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

Another Canadian proprietary Sako? Just saw this "Eatons Sako" for sale

Advertised as a
"Eaton Mod.100 Truline .308 WIN"

Eatons was a large cross-Canada department store that was around from 1869 to 1998. It was something like (and in Canada a competitor with) Sears (Simpson-Sears in Canada) or the Hudsons Bay Co. It had a similar large mail order catalogue. I think they sold a variety of firearms under their "Truline" brand name. I have no idea who actually assembled the Model 100 (Sako). Reproductions of early Eatons catalogues have been published but I don't know if the Truline guns appear in the ones published...It is generally the very early ones that are re-published.

It is in a gun store near Vancouver, B.C.

Hey, Professor! Why don't you buy it and report to us. Always wanting to know more about obscure proprietary Sakos! This one looks like it has a very light barrel.

I heartily agree. If our brother from up north bought the thing we could be treated to some really nice pics and he would get to add one to his collection. So prof what are you waiting for?

Yesterday I asked for a few more photos and a full description. However, the store just emailed me and told me that while they were preparing the photos for me, someone else bought the rifle. Maybe it will show up on this site sometime.

I don't regret this. The rifle was interesting, but for me personally it was not interesting enough.

I note that an "Eatons Sako" has previously appeared on this forum:
