• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

There was a lot of trial and error getting the formatte just right. This was the first thing i have converted to ppd, look for a new version shortly with easier navigation.

Hi,

If the data base can be added to, the hang tag on my L461 Vixen Sporter, #121346, has the date "73-02-21".

Many thanks Scott, that is a terrific piece of work and invaluable for we Sakophiles.

Any chance the moderators & Jim could have a chat about making a new Forum Topic on the home page, eg " SAKO Manufacture Dates and Hang tags" . It might help a lot of people to have all that information in 1 topic area, so some research can be easily done before asking "How old is my Sako?"

I actually enjoy those posts when they include photos, should be a 'by-law' that they can't ask without posting a photo! Also interesting to see the responses, but having the information in 1 place may help some people.

Cheers
Piper

I have an L57 HB serial 9129 tag date 29/05/59 the one listed has a later number and earlier tag date L57 serial 9362 tag date 14/05/1959. This I guess validates that numbers and dates are a good guide achieving excellent help but not fully explaining serial number to dates. And that no real cataloguing occurred at the factory just buckets of actions pilled up in a great sako mountain.
