• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

Hello I’m Darrell and I have a problem. I have the chance to buy two 6PPC’s. One is a repeater and one is a benchrest with adjustable trigger. I can only get one at a time. Which one should I get? Which one is the rarest of the two? I’m getting both, but can only afford one right now. So which one, as both have been used, please help. Both I believe are A1’s. Thanks in advance.

That's easy: Just figure out what you're going to be using each for and which activity will come soonest.

Assuming you'll be using the single shot mostly for targets, and target shooting (rather than most types of hunting) is what is on your near-term calendar, then buy the single-shot. You don't say whether the repeater is a sporter or HB, but if it is a sporter and you're going to outfit it for hunting and hunting won't happen until the fall, then save it for later.

On the other hand, if your near term use is something like calling coyotes, then buy the repeater first.

Update:

The repeater is a 75. The bench rest model is not marked as an AI. I picked up the bench rest today and will get the 75 in two weeks.

The single shot is certainly rarer of the two. 75 has very little collector value, but they are great shooters and are mechanically solid. I would not be too surprised to see many of them reach equally old age as the "vintage" Sako's are now.

The bench rest model is not marked as an AI.
I've noticed in some photos lately that the single shot PPC rifles are not marked AI or AII. Seems to be the case with every one I've seen recently. I used to have one but I don't recall how it was marked and I don't have a photo.

Single shot is rarer?

I see to see quit a few single shots from time to time but the repeaters in 6ppc or 22ppc I seldom see.
