I’m a new member from western PA. I have a newly restored Sako Finnbear .270 Win (L61R) that belonged to my dad. I’m having trouble with the gun jamming after firing the first round and am looking for a replacement magazine follower and spring. I believe the one I have is not the correct one. I’m hoping I can learn where to find a replacement and learn more about these beautiful guns on this forum. Thanks!

Looks like a correct part to me. There's a very common problem with these guns that could be causing your failure to feed. If the bottom metal is installed with the magazine box not properly set in its notch, the bottom metal will not seat all the way and the rifle may fail to feed. It is very common for the magazine box to slip out of the notch when installing the bottom metal. If this is the case, the bottom metal will most likely be sticking up a bit above the wood. If someone has cranked down too hard on the action screw with the mag box out of line, the bottom metal may even be bent. If that is the case, it can be carefully bent back.

This problem is so common that I consider it a design flaw. I've had it happen to me many times when reassembling Sakos, especially older ones.

Thank you for your detailed reply. I was hoping it was the correct follower and spring. I will check the areas you mentioned and try to remedy the problem. I really appreciate your help icebear.
