Been away from collecting sakos for a few years, but jumped back in yesterday at a gun show.
Was walking around with a Browning BAR 22 when I was approached by a gentleman carrying a beautiful AV Hunter in 30-06. He said he bought it new in the mid 80s, put it in his safe and there it sat for about 35 years. Due to the absence of any wear marks in the action, muzzle, bolt, pristine scope bases, etc. I believed him when he told me he’d never fired it. A swap, a handshake and home with me she went. Definitely above average wood for a Hunter.
