• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

Sako Collectors Club Discussion Forum

I have decided to go with the Leupold rings mounted directly to the Sako style dovetails. I got a good deal on an old Leupold Vari-X III 6.5x20x40 gloss. I should have the rifle by Monday or Tuesday of next week. I'm sure I will have many more questions-thanks for all the info I already have gotten. This is a friendly forum with people willing to help. Glad I found it and thanks for the warm welcome. Barry

I was being facetious about the Conetrol rings. They are a bit challenging to mount and more challenging to get the crosshair plumb as you tighten them down, but they are quality-made and very clean looking once mounted due to the ingenious (if frustrating) projectionless ring design.

Stone.......Nawwwwwwwwwww.......not YOU??!! :) :)

And I had such nice things to say...........about Weavers.......!!!

Also....I have some nice Leupold/Sako's to trade for some Conetrol/Sako stuff. Any takers?? :)

GLOSS LEUPOLD SCOPES and vintage GLOSS SAKO RINGS: I have gloss Leupold 3.5-10 x 40 AO and 3.5-10 x 50 scopes both with (and a 2nd x40 without) already mounted gloss Sako rings if I can help someone out. Sorry, I lost track of who was looking for what.

The 6.5-20x is an excellent choice for your rifle. I have that scope on a custom heavy barrel L46 in .222 and I think it's perfect. The 20x is great for shooting off the bench and you can dial it back as conditions require. The 40mm objective will clear the barrel in traditional Sako high rings if you change your mind about the rings.

Got my L46 222 yesterday. Have not had a chance to even hold it other than inspection at FFL. The seller did not exaggerate-99% condition. When I have the time and get scope mounted I will make some pictures. I am sure to have more questions. Thanks. Barry
