I use optilocks and like them. I have various mounts but I am gradually switching all to optilocks

There are many, many threads here that discuss scope mounts to the Nth degree. You will gain more insight & knowledge by perusing those threads than by hoping for the "right" answer to your inquiry. As you will get as many opinions as responses, you'll likely to be more confused than when you started. While looking you may also learn about how to properly install them & the function of the tapered dovetails. It's just my opinion, but any of the newer mount systems are a step back from the original Sako or Leupold onepiece ringmounts. Welcome & good luck!

I usually mount scopes in vintage original Sako rings. With them you can mount smaller hunting scopes very low. There are still plenty of older Sako rings for sale if you look around a bit.

Sometimes I also use Talley rings and their bases that slip onto Sako dovetails. Because they use a base they will mount a bit higher, so more useful for larger scopes.

Both systems are all steel, strong and yet relatively light.
