Here's one of the very scarce Dumoulin rifles built on a Sako action (this rifle is not mine and I do not know the seller -- only posting to show the photos.)

You don't run across these very often, but those of us who have an interest in "proprietary" Sakos are always keen on seeing something like this. The stock work and basketweave checkering are interesting, too. Too bad that I shoot from the left shoulder, so the RH stock with the rollover cheekpiece puts me out of contention as a buyer.

I'm not sure the exact span of the H. Dumoulin company, but I know they were building rifles like this in the late 60's and into the 70's. Most of the ones I've seen have been on an FN action, but there are a few Sakos floating around. My impression is that most of their rifles were built to order and the customer selected from a list of available features. I guess you would call them a "semi-custom" builder, much like Winslow.

There were a couple of other "Dumoulin" gun builders in Belgium, and I'm not sure I can keep straight which was which. I think there was an E. Dumoulin, and perhaps another; one of them built some pretty pricey double rifles.

I see this is an old thread but I have a H Dumoulin in a Sako action. Thought I’d share as I’m really searching all over for information on these rifles.

That's an FN Mauser action, not a Sako action.
