    Hey all,

I’m shooting a M591 in some informal PRS-style competitions locally, and I’m currently running a nightforce NXS in 30mm optilock rings.

I’m looking to upgrade to a 34mm scope (5-25 nightforce or 4.5-27 Vortex). Does anyone know if the 34mm TRG optilock rings will fit a M591? Or should I consider weaver bases and a Spuhr mount?

    Thanks,
    Tim

Hi Tim, I have just picked up a Vortex razor which I plan on mounting onto a L579 rebarrelled to 6.5CM. I was unable to get any help or even information from my local Beretta (Sako) dealer on the Optilock 34s. In frustration have since bought a Contessa picatinny rail that is meant for a Sako 75 & 85 medium action to try to solve the problem. When it arrived I found it needed a little work by my gunsmith to fit properly, but worked fine when I zeroed the setup last weekend.

Is the Contessa rail ambidextrous? I’d be interested in seeing photos of the result as I’ll be mounting on a left handed rifle.

I'm away working for the next two weeks. Will try to get some pics when I get back home. Mine is RH, but from memory I believe it would work on a left handed action just the same.
