Hey All!
Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board.
They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things.
The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to.
DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES!
They often state something like this:
”Hello!
Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]”
If you receive any strange messages:
Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not.
Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out!
Beware of anything that might seem fishy!
And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username.
You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our!
All the best! And be safe!
Jim
I'll pay top dollar for a 14-223 Walker case form die set. Set must include the reamer die and reamer. I'm willing to go top dollar for the set assuming that it is complete and in good shape. So dig through your unused die box and sell a set of these to a fellow member that can use them and...
Welcome back Jim. We all missed ya. I know how it is to fight prolonged illness. I have a couple of pebbles in my shoe right now that aren't going away any time soon.

I want to retake the pics when I'm shaking a lot less. Made in Austria is clearly stamped on the barrel just a bit down the line where it says Flaig's 222 Rem Mag. in addition, if you use Google and query Flaig's it will return info on Flaig's getting high end rifles, shotguns and drillings from...
Yep I agree. I really have a passion for Flaig's rifles. Especially if they are built using a Sako action. This particular one uses an L461 which happens to be my favorite of the Saco line of actions.

Hi Stone
Apparently Flaig's had really high-end rifles built in Austria and imported into the US for sale to clients that wanted something that was a cut above.

Thanks Paul for your input. Less than a year ago I sold an L461 action for $1000. I checked Ebay on the Leupold and found gloss jobberdoos are selling for a bit over $700. As for the Sako High Mounts there is a pair on GB starting at $175. That leaves the cost of the lumber, inletting and...
I'm glad that you didn't look too hard. If you would have we would have gotten into a bidding war as I was determined to get this one to add to my collection.

Here are pics. Best I can do for now. Parkinsons makes me a bit shaky.
So it is a Austrian Flag's rifle in 222 Rem Mag. Bilt on a sako L461 with Sako High Mounts. Scope is a Leupold VX III 6x20. Furniture is Circassian Walnut (I'm guessing). Barrel is partially fluted (on the chamber end...
What happens when you mix an L461 receiver, Sako high rings, Leupold 6x24 Vari -X III, a high quality walnut stock with a Flur De Lei carved pattern and a Flaig's Austrian imported Rifle chambered in 222Remington Magnum,?
Very simple. You get Rick jumping up and down because he can't wait for...
I have only seen one l46 without a rear sight mounted on the barrel. When the barrel mounted sights are remover there is always a trace of the solder left on the barrel.
L46 dovetails were never drilled and tapped for mounts. If the dovetails are drilled and tapped this always affects the value...
So I need a rear site assembly for an old L46 I am restoring. If anyone on the board has one kindly PM me.
The question is, were the rear sites on the Sako L46 rifles soft soldered on to the barrel? I can't believe that they were silver soldered because of the heat. Any info on this will help...
I have an L46 bolt for sale. The face might need to be altered to fit the 25-20. Problem is going to be getting it to you.
Any thoughts from the membership?
