• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

Is a Sako L579 good for 1000 yards?

I have not shot any of my sako .243s at 1000 yards. sakos are my favorite. I did shoot one of my Remington 700 with hart barrel in .243 it only had a 1- 12 twist intended for bullets up to 95 grains. I shot 88grain bergersand did very very good at 1000 yards . with good loads the sako...

    7mm Mag mannlicher accuracy help

cowboy- my 30-06 is not great either. you are going to shoot deer?? i would use the lighter weights from 150 down. 120 or 140 balistic tips if you reload. also, since i have longer range rifles; i carry the 30-06 when i am in an area with shorter range shots.

    30-06 load for TRG-S

Ice- my match loads are either I-4064 or varget. but, if you go to "rifleman'sjournal" - German has done a lot of loading/shooting of the 30-06. in one year i loaded and shot 2500 rounds.

    Best "all around" powder?

Bloo-you could use varget . i have not used it in .222 only I4198. varget does awsome in the 222 mag, 243 and 308. i have not loaded it in 270. used it to kill a 750 pound 6X6 elk out of 30-06.
