• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

Sako & Tikka - Countdown

Hi All - It looks like both the Sako and Tikka websites are counting down to some sort of product release slated for the third week of January. Any educated guesses as to what it will be? Thanks!

Hoping for rimfire Tikka but no educated guesses here!
The last Tikka "game changer" was the tactical rifle which left a lot of people underwhelmed.

I understand they have retooled and are producing the early Riihimaki style bolt and chambering 218 Bee and 22 Hornet for the hungry masses...

The Sako countdown doesn't seem to be signaling major change, just saying" new year new models". I reckon it is not going to be the new Sako 95 because they aren't hyping it up enough.
The Tikka one shows a forest scene and a fifty metre range which makes me think rimfire - something for hunting and something for short range target shooting at 50.

Hi All - I just took a quick look at Sako's website and it appears that they've removed over 50% of the Model 85 variants that have typically been offered. I no longer see the half-stock Bavarian, Brown Bear, Black Bear, Grizzly, Deluxe, Classic Deluxe, Safari, so on and so forth. Not sure if this means anything at all but, perhaps it's a hint of a re-engineered Model 85 or a brand new 95? (fingers crossed!) Thanks!
